What's the job?

We are going through an exciting period of change and are seeking a highly motivated and experienced iOS Engineer with expertise in iOS Developer with expertise in Swift & SwiftUI to join our Software Engineering team and work on our greenfield Android KMM programme.

Our aspiration is to grow an engineering function that is world class, pioneering in the retail technology space, making great software within a growth culture that is always looking for the next thing to improve or adapt to meet our customer needs.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality iOS Apps using Swift and Xcode
  • Leverage SwiftUI to create flexible user interfaces
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse user requirements and translate them into testable features
  • Talented people leader, coaching, mentoring, facilitation, and teaching, whilst developing a pipeline of future talent.
  • Integrate KMM components into iOS apps
  • Implement design patterns to ensure robust and scalable code
  • Use GitLab to manage source code, version control, and collaborative development
  • Write and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability
  • Continuously research and stay up to date with new iOS development trends and technologies
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and user manuals for the applications
What you'll bring

Required Skills & Experience:
  • At least 5 years of experience in iOS development with a strong portfolio of mobile applications built using Swift and Xcode
  • Has experience of SwiftUI in a commercial project
  • Experience with software design patterns and best practices in iOS development
  • Great knowledge of unit testing and automated testing frameworks
  • Experience with SDK integrations
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and JSON data structures with knowledge and awareness of GraphQL
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Bitrise), and source control systems.
  • An understanding of Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM)
Nice to have :
  • Published articles on LinkedIn/Medium or other platforms
  • Involved in an iOS community via membership of online groups or meetups and can demonstrate participation in developer forums
  • Experimented with Android development
