Summary / Role Purpose

The Senior DevOps Engineer supports the development of one or more software products, processes, and systems. In this role, the Senior DevOps Engineer will use advanced technical and problem-solving skills to help development teams to tackle complex issues relative to their Continuous Delivery software releases. He pro-actively contribute to close the gap between development environment and infrastructure environment to ease & smooth the development team Continuous Delivery ownership.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works with IT to maintain DevOps infrastructure systems: provisioning, configurations & exploitation support of Operating System (windows, linux…), Software Analysis System (SonarQube, FNCI…), Artifacts handling Systems (Artifactory, AzureDevops…)…

  • Prepare, configure, deploy, maintain, monitor and supports build, testing & packaging capabilities on our common development infrastructure (CI/CD agents side)

  • Works in a collaborative manner with members of the software development, testing & release teams to support requirements evolutions for builds, tests and packaging

  • Troubleshoot and support issues resolution of devops toolchain (builds, tests and packaging)

  • Support CI/CD best practices adoption via services (e.g. scripts, templates, tools…) or knowledge sharing (e.g. workshop, peer session, doc/snippets…), which help R&D teams to continuously improve their delivery flow capabilities (quality, stability, portability, reliability, frequencies, security…)

  • Pro-actively support automatization identifications & operational execution

  • Continuously monitor all the common devops systems chain with alerting systems to pro-actively remedy any risk of failures and support decisions making (repositories, lead/cycle time, change failure rate, hardware & software healthcheck…).

  • Contribute to R&D delivery optimizations investigations & cross ansys teams initiatives (e.g. Infrastructure as Code, containerization solutions…)

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

  • Experience: ~3 years in a DevOps missions

  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills 

  • Ability to plan, complete & report high-quality work on a schedule

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with strong appetite for pedagogical collaboration behavior

  • Microsoft Azure DevOps or any equivalent to cover the full DevOps chain (at least Build, Tests and releases Deployment capabilities knowledge & experiences)

  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux (RHEL:CentOS/Rocky or Ubuntu) Operating Systems administration (permissions, security, certificates, package management…) with scripting skills (Python, Linux shell, Windows batch/powershell)

  • Source code versioning repositories mastering (GIT & LFS, authentications, submodules…)

  • Monitoring & observability experiences (Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry)

  • Knowledge & experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Ansible or equivalent)

  • Knowledge & experience with Containers systems (Docker or equivalent)

  • Experience with YAML and JSON programming language

  • .NET core (version >5) ecosystem mastering

  • Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team

 

  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge & familiarity with C++ and C# project development (.NET, Visual Studio, Intel, GCC compilers with CMake management or equivalent)

  • Third Party software dependencies packages management (nuget, npm, conan, python modules)

  • Knowledge of Artifactory artifacts manager or any equivalent

  • Knowledge of SonarQube analysis handling or any equivalent
