The Project Coordinator will support the implementation of the FCDO-funded Water Tracker for National Climate Planning Program. Supported by the Project Lead and Portfolio Management staff, the incumbent will forge an enabling environment among project team members, implementation partners, and key stakeholders for the timely delivery of project outputs, in consultation with the project lead.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the project management execution of a four-year, multi-institution grant agreement, including the deployment of the Water Tracker for National Climate Planning for selected countries to assess the current level of water integration into national climate planning. Support partner contracting and manage partners' contracts, including financial reporting requirements. Assist conducting due diligence assessments of partners and provide due diligence training and value for money training / support. Provide project management and contractual support to a small team of experts responsible for conducting country assessments, working with state representatives to develop strategies for improving water-related climate adaptation at the national level, and implementing those strategies. Coordinate closely with external monitoring, evaluation, and learning consultants to ensure project activities align with relevant indicators. Assist the Project Lead in the preparation of interim and final project reports, annual workplans, and project budgets. Coordinate financial tracking, reporting, and forecasting in response for FCDO. Provide project coordination support, including organizing project events and meetings. Liaise with internal and external counterparts to promote effective collaboration, monitor project progress of the Water Tracker Program and highlight potential risks to program delivery. Facilitate regular virtual and physical meetings with the project team and implementing partners for coordination and planning. Manage all financial, operational, logistical, procurement, and accounting processes of the project. Monitor project outputs, provide progress-reporting updates on overall project progress, including deliverables and offer administrative support to the Project Lead to ensure adherence to agreed timelines. Coordinate stakeholder engagement arrangements for the Water Tracker Project Director as necessary. Contribute to maintaining program databases detailing contacts, interns, consultants, events, and projects. Maintain and monitor project plans, schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures. Organize, attend, and participate in stakeholder meetings. Document and follow up on necessary actions and decisions from meetings. Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions. Ensure stakeholder views are managed toward the best solution. Develop and coordinate data-gathering and monitoring systems to maintain rigorous quality standards. Assist in coordinating partnerships with government and international development partner agencies involved in water resource development and climate change adaptation in Water Tracker countries of operation. Respond to enquiries and correspondence to the AGWA (The Alliance for Global Water Adaptation) Project Director appropriately and in a timely manner.Requirements
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

A university degree in environmental science, climate change, policy, or a related scientific discipline relevant to water resources across multiple sectors. Minimum of 8 years of professional experience, including at least 4 years of demonstrated experience in project coordination and management processes with international organizations or other development partners. Demonstrated familiarity with social media platforms and the ability to utilize them for promoting inter-office communications and facilitating information sharing. Experience in preparing scientific information and papers. Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders.Desirable,
Previous experience in water management or climate change with international organizations. A postgraduate degree in a related scientific discipline is preferred.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

This is a nationally recruited position and only Sri Lankan nationals will be considered. IWMI offers a competitive salary and benefits package, inclusive of health insurance, life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, and long-term disability coverage. The duration of the contract will initially be for a period of three years with the possibility of extension.
