About the team:
Made up of six subteams including Dashboard, Engine, Infrastructure, Integrations, Threat Research & Security, the DataDome tech team is spread across Europe and the US. Handling over 2 trillion events per day with responses within 3ms (99th percentile), DataDome is present in 25+ data centers globally, deployed using Docker.
Deploying on AWS, Scaleway, Vultr, and GCP, utilizing Docker, Ansible, and Terraform, and monitoring with Grafana and Prometheus, the team manages an average of 8 billion daily requests and over 300 TB of data monthly.
Operating a real-time detection layer in Java, low latency Stream Engine using Flink in Scala, ElasticSearch for storage, Kafka for inter-layer communication, HAProxy for load balancing, Symfony 5 & Angular 9 for dashboards, the team leverages tools like Slack, GitHub, Hangouts, & StackOverflow for Teams. Even without prior cyber experience, mentors are available to help bridge knowledge gaps with resources to support continuous development.
Your scope as a JS Threat Research Engineer
You'll be primarily responsible for:
- Enhancing JS components such as JavaScript obfuscator, DataDome CAPTCHA, device check, and JS tag
- Contributing to the enhancement of the real-time detection engine by introducing new JS detection signals
- Developing mechanisms to efficiently block malicious bots at scale
It would be beneficial if you have:
- At least 5 years of experience in software engineering and/or Cybersecurity roles
- Proficiency in programming languages like JavaScript/TypeScript with sound knowledge of best practices including testing and CI/CD
- Strong grasp of (de)obfuscation/(de)compiler principles
- Interest or experience in Cybersecurity or online fraud prevention
- Enjoy sharing knowledge with team members
- An engineering degree in software engineering or cybersecurity
Hands-on experience with bot development or automation frameworks like selenium or puppeteer
Prior involvement in creating (de)compilers or (de)obfuscators
