Internship - Engineer R&d - Electronic Board

SuperGrid Institute also develops new technologies for the integration of renewable energies into the electricity networks of the future.
SuperGrid Institute has been ranked every year since 2018, reaching the podium 3 times in the INPI prize list.
**General Context**:
The Power Electronic and power conversion Program studies innovative topologies and technologies in MVDC and HVDC fields.
These studies include also Power Switches, Medium Frequency Transformers and the Control.
We build prototypes or demonstrators, that we test in our laboratories.
In this context, we build an ageing test bench based on thermal cycles and dedicated to the power electronic components.
The topic of this internship is to survey the VDS on power SiC Mosfet voltage terminals from an electronic board.
The measure must be performed during the component turning-off, at a switching frequency of 100kHz and with an accuracy between +/-5%.
The electronic board mission will be also to send the digital measurements to the general control master of the test bench.
**Objectives / Missions**:
Vos missions principales seront les suivantes:
- Understand and analyze clearly the technical topic
- Define a macro scheduling including the main tasks
- Analyze the principle of the existing electronic board of mesure, but dedicated to a switching frequency of 1 kHz
- Perform preliminary tests on Laboratory bench
- Analyze the new requirements and define the dedicated electronic hardware architecture according to several technical solutions to be explored with the team - Note that a microcontroller can be also be used or that the principle of the current board can be kept and improved
- More precisely : write a technical specification
- Design the electronic circuit (calculations, circuit modeling)
- Describe the detailled conception
- Build the electronic board
- Perform test on the board on Laboratory bench
- Write the test report in English
This internship is dedicated to a PFE (“Projet de Fin d’Etude”) et must be realized during 6 months. It is dedicated for a student from Engineering high school or university.
You are trained in Electrical domain with embedded electronic and have knowledge in analogic and microcontroller.
Finally, you are curious, interested by the technical topics, methodical, appreciate by practical activities in laboratory, and you are comfortable with the public introductions.
Finally, you have also a good experience in writing and synthesis know-how of your work.
