**Cherry Biotech’s mission**

Cherry Biotech’s mission is to provide the most advanced technological platform for predicting the impact of compounds (e.g. drug, endocrine disruptors, cosmetic) on the human body to better treat pathologies and predict undesired effects. The platform aims to be the best alternative to ineffective animal models by combining novel microfluidic technologies, artificial intelligence, and the most advanced imaging techniques.

**Our context today**

We are now at the development stage of our company. CubiX, our main product, is in a pre-sales phase and we are now offering service activities. We are also involved in several international scientific collaborations which allow us to keep ahead of our competitors, to test our devices with top-notch scientific support and to further explore new potential innovations to integrate into our current and future products.

**Our team**

To meet all the challenges of our company, we have built a united and hardworking group. We are a multidisciplinary team of 19 people of 10 different nationalities, passionate about our mission, helping each other, and adapting to all situations.

Organs on Chip, or micro physiological systems (MPS), have the potentiality to increase the speed of discovery of new treatments and replace animal models. At Cherry we developed a new device, CubiX, that has the power of controlling the physical parameters of the cellular environment.

**Mission**

In our production facilities, you will learn how our products & micro-physiological system works, how they are built and characterized, and the troubleshooting process to identify and solve technical issues.

**Your main tasks during the internship**:

- Assist in the design of highly specialized and complex systems to integrate into our products and prototypes.
- Assemble and test products (CherryTemp & Cubix) and prototypes (microfluidic devices).
- Participate in the production and after-sales service activities (CherryTemp & Cubix).
- Identify and implement optimization processes and actions.
- Communicate results by reports and oral presentations to your supervisors and to the company.
- Participate in brainstorming and follow up meetings.

**Main skills expected to be acquired at the end of the Cherry experience**:

- Develop of a good theoretical and practical knowledge about the multidisciplinary, complexity and challenges associated with building and validating new advanced MPS.
- Learn how to design, prototype, and produce with critical and analytical vision.
- Understand the importance of usability and system design for user and market fit.
- Improve organizational and technical skills.

**What we’re looking for**:

- Bac+4 or Bac+5 of Mechanical or other engineering/Master degree
- Previous experience(s) with product assembly, CAD or DIY projects (Maker community)
- English fluent speaker and good writing skills mandatory.
- Passionate about mechanical and electronical prototyping.
- Good motivation, autonomy, teamwork.
