Summary:
Due to continued growth, VIAVI Solutions France is currently looking to hire an Analog Electronics Engineer for our R&D site in Saint-Étienne, southwest of Lyon. You must be based within a commutable distance of the work location or be willing to relocate prior to beginning employment with VIAVI Solutions.
You will have the chance to join an experienced multidisciplinary team working on designing and developing instruments and systems for testing and monitoring fiber optic networks. Reporting into our Analog & Optics Group Manager, you will be in charge of developing optical measurement modules and, more specifically, the design of electronic boards (analog electronics). You’ll be working alongside 60 friendly people in our dynamic and collaborative R&D department.
Duties & Responsibilities:
As part of the development of our measuring devices, you will be involved in all phases of project development:
- Analysis of the specifications and proposing technical solutions in conjunction with our marketing team.- Design / realization / validation of electronic boards.- Integration of electronic boards in a multi-technological context (Mechanical, Optical and Software) with other groups within our R&D department.- Definition of adjustment and calibration procedures for the product to be put into production with VIAVI industrialization department.- Performance review and specification validation.- Develop new ideas for improving the design, functionality, performance, reliability, and efficiency of the products.
Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:
Required skills:
- Engineering degree in electronics (classical training preferred CPGE / School of Engineering).- Minimum 5 years of experience in the design of embedded electronic boards.- Experience in the field of fiber optic measurements is ideal.- Good analytical and synthesis skills.- Excellent technical, verbal and interpersonal skills are required, including a high level of English as you’ll be working in an international setup and on standardization aspects.- Autonomous and rigorous, you also know how to communicate in order to work as a team on different projects.
Required knowledge:
- Analog electronics and measurement acquisition chain (filtering, amplifiers, power supplies, analog / digital conversion, etc.).- Electronic schematics (CAD tools such as Cadence).- Strong simulation experience with industry tools like Spice.- Ability to write clear and unambiguous process and product documentation.- Deep understanding of the analog design flow steps including architecture, design, and design integration.
