Job Title: Urban Agriculture Project Coordinator

Overview of the Directorate of Strategy and Stakeholder Support (DS2A)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Consolidate strategic directives for urban revitalization initiatives and future investments, while continuously refining intervention methodologies.
  • Oversee project execution, including contract management and payment schedules.
  • Implement a strategy to assist urban renewal participants and future investments through training, operational support, and knowledge dissemination.
  • Contribute to the monitoring and assessment of urban revitalization initiatives.
  • Facilitate innovation and engage in forward-thinking discussions.
  • Manage international project activities.

Key Duties (including travel when necessary)

As a member of the DS2A, the Project Coordinator collaborates with the Economic Development, Employment, Integration, and Urban Agriculture team to enhance the capabilities of urban renewal participants. The coordinator will focus on:

1) Overseeing 'Les Quartiers Fertiles' initiatives:

  • Provide technical guidance and expertise for project execution.
  • Coordinate with operational teams for project contracts and monitoring.
  • Establish a framework for project evaluation.
  • Coordinate external expertise for project assistance.
  • Report to project financiers.

2) Managing urban agriculture partnerships:

  • Collaborate with project financiers and urban agriculture stakeholders.
  • Engage with diverse stakeholders in urban agriculture.
  • Facilitate the development of urban agriculture initiatives.

3) Enhancing the network of urban agriculture stakeholders:

  • Organize and animate the community involved in 'Les Quartiers Fertiles.'
  • Create tools and resources for urban agriculture stakeholders.

4) Providing expertise in urban agriculture:

  • Serve as a reference point for urban agriculture within the agency and beyond.
  • Support local initiatives and contribute to the agency's guidelines.

5) Contributing to the overall activities of the department:

  • Assist in the implementation of sustainable urban initiatives.
  • Participate in innovation projects and future initiatives.
  • Contribute to the strategic considerations of the agency.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Understanding of urban agriculture and urban revitalization.
  • Familiarity with governmental and local authority operations.
  • Expertise in financial engineering related to urban agriculture.
  • Proficient project management skills.
  • Aptitude for coordinating partnerships.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Practical and operational mindset.
  • Self-sufficient and well-organized.
  • Proactive with a curious disposition.

Requirements:

A minimum of a Master's degree, preferably in agriculture, urban planning, or a related discipline. At least five years of experience in agriculture, urban planning, or sustainability is preferred.
