About the Job
The Human Resources Coordinator for the Sudan mission will oversee and coordinate all administrative and labor services. This role will involve participating in the definition of Solidarités International's human resource policies and ensuring their implementation. The coordinator will be responsible for monitoring adherence to donor processes and guidelines, as well as country laws and requirements. They will serve as the point of reference for the mission and the link between headquarters and the mission for all administrative matters.
Main Challenges
- Due to the ongoing conflict, the SI Sudan mission has experienced a significant increase in activities and funding, resulting in a substantial need for recruitment and follow-up.
- Obtaining Sudanese visas is complicated, and work will be conducted remotely from N'Djamena.
- Emergency contexts and HR procedures require respect for established procedures and monitoring of donor processes.
- Administrative impediments related to the labor office and authorizations pose challenges.
Priorities for the First Two-Three Months
- Follow-up and advise on the HR setup of the bases.
- Develop an HR policy for the ERM team.
- Ensure relations with local authorities regarding recruitments.
- Contract a lawyer and clarify the legal framework for contract management.
- Manage both country HR procedures for cross-border operations from Eastern Chad to West Darfur, with close collaboration with the admin coo in Chad.
Your Profile
Education/Academic Background
BAC in HR management.
Specific Skills and Experience
- 3-4 years of experience in a similar position.
- 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector.
- Knowledge of HOMERE software.
- Experience in accompanying the opening of bases (new projects) and structuring the HR department.
- Experience in team management and capacity building of the HR team.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Adaptability.
- Strong initiative and improvisation capacities.
Language
- English fluently.
- French.
- Arabic would be a strong asset.
SI Will Offer You
A Salaried Position
According to experience, starting from EUR gross per month (base salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of USD .
SI also covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment.
Breaks
During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented at the rate of 7 working days every three months (with a USD break allowance, allocated by SI). To these breaks periods, SI grants one additional rest day per month worked.
Insurance Package
Expatriates benefit from an insurance package which refunds all healthcare expenses (including medical and surgical expenses, dental care and ophthalmological expenses, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are refunded.
LIVING CONDITIONS
The coordination team is based in N'Djamena, where conditions are comfortable. The guest house and office will be separated, with hot water, air conditioning, TV, Internet, and electricity. The city of N'Djamena offers a wide range of leisure facilities (gyms, bars, restaurants, cultural institute, riverside walks, etc.) and a large expatriate community.
SECURITY
When obtaining visas for Sudan, SI will have to deal with numerous security constraints. Access is still under negotiation, and some areas are still closed. Travel in eastern Sudan is subject to numerous administrative impediments. In Darfur, the situation is highly unstable, with cross-border operations underway in Geneina.
