Project Controls Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Professional to join our team at Turner & Townsend. As a key member of our Industrial and Manufacturing sector, you will be responsible for establishing processes, templates, and tools to ensure the successful delivery of complex projects.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement project controls processes to monitor performance against baselines and incorporate the impacts of risk, opportunities, and change.
- Lead the evaluation of project time, cost, and quality targets, applying governance controls as necessary.
- Collaborate with a remote team of cost managers to ensure the client receives value for money.
- Guide and influence the general contractor to ensure they are progressing in line with the schedule and within agreed cash flow parameters.
- Act as the key point of contact to the client, overcoming delivery and commercial issues while preparing formal and ad hoc reports.
- Control costs using knowledge of conceptual estimating, funding stage gates, basic contingency principles, and procurement principles.
- Create and/or work within a cost report, summarizing financials in an executive-level dashboard.
- Understand change management principles, lead agreed change management processes, and work flows, providing a platform for adding, tracking, monitoring, and approving change.
- Coordinate and lead planning sessions and workshops with clients and vendors to compile the master project/programme schedule, agreeing baselines and a critical path.
- Understand procurement principles, collate lead times from vendors and clients into the master schedule, and communicate the prioritization of ordering materials and equipment to meet scheduled install dates.
- Work closely with the client to define vendor schedule requirements.
- Actively participate in project team risk evaluations, incorporating defined risks into Monte Carlo simulations to output quantitative impacts to the overall project cost and schedule.
- Work closely with the project team to stay informed on the status of project changes, incorporating and communicating these to the project team to allow for approvals in the change management process.
- Hold vendors accountable for required schedule updates and reporting to maintain timely and accurate updates of the master schedule, ensuring that the schedules adhere to the defined process and quality expectations.
- Experience in project controls coordination in all phases of the project lifecycle, including program, risk, and reporting, with project experience of very large complex construction projects, ideally in the Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, Life Science sectors.
- Demonstrated experience in determining corrective actions or recommendations based on facts and figures and critically evaluating information and data from various sources.
- Advanced skills in MS Office and Primavera P6.
- Able to demonstrate a commitment to providing excellent service.
- Reliable with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Strong time management skills, quick thinking, and ability to meet project deadlines as necessary.
- Highly motivated and driven with a passion for delivering to clients and have the ability to work independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Flexible mobility advantageous, Industrial, Science & Technology projects are often away from home office locations.
