Neuromorphic Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team at Bordeaux Neurocampus as an Assistant Engineer in Neuromorphic Systems. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project focused on the development of a real-time neuromorphic system for the simulation of biomimetic neurons.

The project involves the implementation of a conductance-based hippocampal model on a Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) platform. The candidate will be responsible for adjusting the parameters and adapting the BioEmus system to replicate the simulations performed by the Brian2 software. This will require a strong understanding of programming languages such as Python and C/C++, as well as experience with FPGA design and computational neuroscience.

• Implement the conductance-based hippocampal model on the FPGA platform
• Adjust the parameters and adapt the BioEmus system to replicate the simulations performed by the Brian2 software
• Develop new processes for synapses and FPGA networks
• Validate the implementation through a step-by-step methodology

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in programming, embedded systems, and computational neuroscience. They will also have experience with FPGA design and be familiar with the Brian2 software. Additionally, they will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have excellent communication skills.
