Human Factors Airworthiness Engineer

We are seeking a Human Factors Airworthiness Engineer to join our Certification Technical Directorate in Toulouse. This role involves developing our Human Factors certification specialist and future expert.
Certification provides a complete overview of the aircraft development process, from initial project application to continued airworthiness of the in-service fleet. As an airworthiness engineer, you will reconcile two significant challenges: enhancing aviation safety while ensuring timely certification of our products.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading certification activities in technical fields;
- Identifying and interpreting applicable airworthiness requirements;
- Negotiating acceptable means of compliance;
- Defining and communicating Airbus policies regarding human factors certification;
- Interfacing with various Airbus internal stakeholders, including the Design Office, Program, and Chief Engineering teams;
- Managing relationships with airworthiness authorities;
- Supporting type certificate validation exercises with foreign authorities;
- Supporting or representing Airbus in rulemaking and standardization activities.
You will have the following skills and interests:
- A strong interest and at least 5 years of experience in cockpit/systems design or human factors assessment;
- A strong interest in aircraft certification;
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to integrate a team that values respect, integrity, and teamwork;
- A willingness to engage in new technical activities;
- The ability to work transnationally and across organizational boundaries;
- The confidence to represent Airbus in front of our main Airworthiness Authorities;
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, including a high level of proficiency in English.
