At Walker Lovell, we are addressing one of the most pressing challenges of our time: climate change. Our goal is ambitious, to remove a billion tons of CO2 by 2050, and we need a talented Membrane Scientist to help us achieve it.
The position involves leading the scientific development and industrialization of ion-exchange membranes, a core component of our Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology. As a Membrane Scientist, you will drive membrane design, sample production, and characterization, while developing an industrialization strategy to support the scalability of our technology.
Main Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive literature reviews on ion-exchange membranes to inform our research and development.
- Improve and innovate on membrane design for optimal performance, working closely with our R&D team.
- Produce and characterize membrane samples using advanced techniques such as IR Spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, SEM, EDX, TGA, Zeta potential, and EIS.
- Lead the industrialization and scale-up planning for membrane production, ensuring seamless integration with our manufacturing processes.
- Support intellectual property development, including competitor benchmarking and IP generation, to protect our innovative technology.

Requirements:
- Advanced degree (PhD or MSc) in Polymer Chemistry, Electrochemistry, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in membrane development, with a strong background in polymer science and expertise in synthesis and laboratory characterization.
- Experience with ion-exchange membranes is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities, with a focus on results and team collaboration.
- English proficiency is required, with French language skills being beneficial but not essential.
