Project Overview

The MAGNET team at INRIA is seeking a PhD student to contribute to the development of privacy-preserving federated learning algorithms for applications in oncology. The successful candidate will work closely with the project team and international partners to design and implement secure machine learning models.

Research Objectives

The PhD student will focus on researching and prototyping algorithms for secure, privacy-preserving federated learning in settings with potentially malicious participants. The research will involve collaboration with colleagues in the MAGNET team and project partners, as well as travel to other partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the research of the TRUMPET, FLUTE, and REDEEM projects
  • Collaborate with other MAGNET team members and project partners
  • Disseminate research results

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science and mathematics, with good programming skills and a strong understanding of machine learning, statistics, and cryptography. The candidate should also have good relational skills, including working in a team and effective reporting and communication with stakeholders.

Salary

1st and 2nd year: 2100€ gross monthly salary (before taxes)

3rd year: 2190€ gross monthly salary (before taxes)
