Mission:We are seeking an experienced and dynamic R&D manager to join us as a global platform R&D leader for our protein hydrolysates portfolio within our Animal Nutrition Business Line (NUVINTM).
This pivotal role will oversee all R&D aspects of the platform, including administrative duties for NUVIN R&D operations, advocacy for the Nuvin business line, and fostering strong cross-functional relationships with global platform peers and within the Elven site.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the Elven-based hydrolysate platform project team, ensuring the successful execution of the project pipeline with on-time delivery and clear visibility for stakeholders. Develop and implement standard project and product development procedures, including tracking and reporting results.
- Manage, mentor, and develop two direct reports, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
- Represent and advocate for the Global R&D team's needs within the Elven site. Collaborate closely with the Nutrition R&D Director, other onsite R&D leads, and product management and marketing leaders to develop, plan, and execute on the protein hydrolysate R&D pipeline.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with key stakeholders, including other team leads in Elven and members of the EMEA region Leadership Team and Global Leadership Team. Communicate with, support, and train regional Development & Technical Support teams on new products and technologies.
- Contribute new ideas to the innovation and new product development process and promote team achievements internally and externally through presentations and publications. Maintain and grow an external network of animal nutrition experts, research institutes, and universities.
- Candidates must have a degree in a relevant field plus experience (BSc + 10 years, MSc + 7 years, PhD or DMV + 5 years) and a proven track record in commercial R&D with an emphasis on development.
- Experience in managing R&D teams in an international and multidisciplinary environment is essential.
- An understanding of pet food production processes and species experience is required, with companion animal experience preferred; farm animal or aquaculture is also considered.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and people management skills are required.
- Fluency in English (C1) is a must, fluency or professional proficiency in French (B1+ level) is a plus.
- The ability to synthesize information and adjust course, when necessary, along with empathetic people management capabilities, is essential.
