Electrical Systems Engineer

SuperGrid Institute, a leading player in the energy transition, is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Engineer to join its C&P prototyping and HIL validation group.
Main Responsibilities- Participate in the technical improvement of the real-time simulation laboratory, focusing on rapid prototyping and HIL testing of industrial relays and controllers.
- Develop and validate DC Grid controls, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
- Coordinate internal and external activities to implement specified HIL setups, guaranteeing efficient project execution.
- Interact with customers throughout the pre-sale phase to delivery, providing exceptional support and guidance.
- Develop and maintain a control room/SCADA interface for demonstration purposes, showcasing the institute's capabilities.
- Create and maintain a shared competence within the Architecture and System program, focusing on communication and telecommunication techniques for HVDC grid automation, protection, and control.
- Participate in the structuration of the technical and commercial offer, ensuring alignment with the institute's goals.
- Organize demonstration visits, publish technical papers, and participate in conferences and events, promoting the institute's expertise.
We are seeking an engineer or PhD holder specializing in Electrical Engineering, with 3-5 years of experience in modeling and simulation of electrical systems (high voltage). The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in modeling and simulation of electrical systems using software such as PSCAD, EMTP, and/or HYPERSIM.
- Knowledge of power electronics and controls.
- Familiarity with HVDC switching and breaking equipment, fault current limiting technologies.
- Understanding of communication for electrical substation automation (IEC 61850 standard).
- Programming skills in C/C++ and Python (a plus).
- Good command of English.
- Teamwork.
- Organizational skills.
