The ideal candidate for this role is a software engineer with a strong focus on Python programming and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement Python pipelines for semantic processing (NLP) and data augmentation, including vectorisation (embeddings) to/from MongoDB/Pinecone, Named Entity Recognition (NER) to/from MongoDB, and Elasticsearch indexing.
Develop Python transformation pipelines for derived data around companies, computing insightful data points from raw company data and maintaining a Python framework for data point computation.
Contribute to the growth and development of the technical team, particularly junior teammates.
Opportunities:
Implement cloud-based data acquisition/ETL pipelines, especially with Airflow, DBT, and Snowflake, and expand web scraping capabilities using Pub/Sub, GCS, and CloudRun.
Career Path:
As the tech organisation grows, the successful candidate can move into a Tech Lead role.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience developing scalable industry-ready software applications in Python, 3+ years of experience implementing data processing pipelines/ETLs, and 2+ years of experience working with advanced MongoDB and SQL + Elasticsearch.
A solid understanding of computing scalability and some hands-on experience with common/modern data frameworks, particularly GCP, DBT, and Snowflake, are also required.
