Internal Audit and Compliance Specialist

Position Overview: Within the Flat Europe division of ArcelorMittal France, reporting directly to the Head of Controlling & Accounting, this role is pivotal in establishing a robust financial and control matrix to ensure the achievement of business goals. As the responsible party for Internal Control and SOx compliance, you will be tasked with defining, regularly reviewing, and ensuring adherence to the Internal Control and SOx framework requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the internal control and SOx compliance program in close collaboration with the Segment head of SOx.
  • Facilitate the Account Risk assessment in partnership with business units and the Head of Controlling & Accounting.
  • Oversee the Application Risk assessment in conjunction with the IT department.
  • Manage the Risk Control Matrix in collaboration with both business and IT stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors for the execution of internal control and SOx audits.
  • Develop and sustain a comprehensive internal controls framework that aligns with compliance mandates.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in Internal Control.
  • Guarantee prompt remediation of any identified SOx deficiencies.

Professional Qualifications:

  • A University Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or Management.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience is essential, with experience in a Big 4 firm being advantageous.
  • Ideally, you will possess a blend of experience in:
    • Management and expertise in the economic and financial domains across various companies, particularly within the industrial sector.
    • Financial Consulting, Internal Control, and SOx Audit within large publicly traded corporations adhering to SOx and PCAOB compliance standards.
  • Proven knowledge of both national and international accounting regulations.
  • Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards and Internal Control (SoX) regulations.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Proficient in using management software tools (SAP, Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), with a focus on enhancing data productivity through automation and digitalization.
  • Experience working in an ArcelorMittal Unit and/or Segment is preferred.
