Job Description

Copeland is seeking an experienced Industrial Automation Sales Professional to join our team. As a Digital Sales Engineer, you will play a key role in driving sales growth within a dedicated territory, leveraging digital tools and strategies to engage with customers and identify new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Territory Management: Utilize digital platforms to remotely connect with existing and potential customers, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Prospecting & New Customer Acquisition: Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through digital channels, expanding our customer base within targeted industry segments.
  • Sales Campaign Deployment: Collaborate with the marketing team to implement sales campaigns aimed at specific industries and customer segments, introducing new products and solutions to existing customers.
  • Product Knowledge: Obtain in-depth knowledge of Emerson's products and solutions for each sales campaign, effectively communicating the value proposition to customers.
  • Hunter Mentality: Demonstrate persistence and determination in overcoming obstacles and securing sales, not taking "no" for an answer.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers through consistent follow-up and excellent customer service.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate the support of domain experts, product or solutions experts, or other company collaborators to create a compelling and differentiating value proposition for selected customers.
  • Pricing: Realize price through portfolio creation, focusing on customer value and closing deals with a sense of urgency while ensuring the best possible price.
  • Digital Tools Proficiency: Utilize CRM systems, sales automation tools (Salesloft), and digital marketing platforms (IIR, Zoominfo, LinkedIn) to find opportunities, enhance sales efforts, improve return, and track performance.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular reports on sales activities, campaign effectiveness, and market feedback to the sales manager.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related fields) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in consultative selling and the ability to explain sophisticated technical products in a simplified manner.
  • Strong understanding of the industrial automation and instrumentation market, including sensors, measurement devices, and control systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive for results and achievement of sales goals.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel as required for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Emerson's products and solutions is a plus.
  • Experience in selling to industries such as oil & gas, chemical, manufacturing, or energy sectors.
  • Digital sales or e-commerce experience in industrial products is advantageous.
  • Years of experience in a technical sales role, preferably in industrial automation or instrumentation.
  • Power BI knowledge or experience.
