About the Role

CIMMYT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fundraising and Donor Relations Specialist to join its Resource Mobilization Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting designated CIMMYT Program Directors, Program Managers, and senior scientists in their fundraising endeavors, ensuring successful fundraising outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Actively contribute to DFS annual planning activities, implementation, and review in her or his areas of responsibility.
  2. Support designated CIMMYT Program Directors, Program Managers, and senior scientists by strengthening their fundraising endeavors, ensuring successful fundraising outcomes.
  3. Actively assist designated Programs in their fundraising efforts by attending regular Program fundraising meetings, advising on fundraising best practice, and providing editorial support to funding proposals.
  4. Participate in the design and management of annual fundraising plans to advance the ambitions of designated Programs.
  5. Contribute to the provision of fundraising services and tools (e.g., funding opportunities) to designated Programs which includes tailored support in the pursuit of specific bilateral and CGIAR pool-funded options.
  6. Collaborate closely with other Fundraising, Grants Management, Sub-Grants Management, and Project Management colleagues based in DFS.
  7. Assist in the development of material necessary for Resource Mobilization Management Committee (RMMC) meetings.
  8. Interact with Communications colleagues in the creation of various donor-facing products (e.g., briefs to support donor visits).
  9. Deliver professional stewardship to current and lapsed donors with the objective of attracting follow-on grants.
  10. Maintain and input relevant records, and advise on donor priorities/exclusions, donor interactions, bids by other grantees, and donor contact information into the DFS databases.
  11. Perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  1. Master's degree in communication, International Development, Business Administration, or similar field.
  2. Experience in Project Management.
  3. Experience in a multi-project work environment for more than 5 years, part of that in an international context.
  4. Documented experience in donor intelligence and fundraising; demonstrated capacity in both supporting and leading on successful fundraising opportunities.
  5. Ability to build strong relationships with CIMMYT counterparts at all levels (e.g., Communications Unit, Programs) focusing on successful outcomes, and advancing CIMMYT's fundraising ambitions.
  6. Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  7. Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude.
  8. Actively works towards continuing personal learning and development; responds positively to feedback; implements improvement tactics.
  9. Promotes a knowledge-sharing and learning culture in DFS by demonstrating leadership in their domain and seeking continuous improvement in their activities.
  10. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, other foreign languages are a plus.
  11. Desire and ability to work collaboratively, respectfully, and inclusively in a diverse, multicultural, multidisciplinary work environment.

Benefits

The position is for an initial fixed term of three (3) years, after which further employment is subject to performance and the continued availability of funds.
