The American University of Paris is seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor in Professional Communications to join our faculty. As a key member of our Department of Communication, Media and Culture, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the field of professional communications, with a focus on branding and marketing.
Responsibilities:- Teach six courses per academic year, including undergraduate and graduate-level courses in professional branding and communications.
- Provide professional mentorship to students, helping them develop their skills and plan their careers.
- Contribute to the development of curricula and courses in professional communications, ensuring they align with the department's goals and objectives.
- Participate in faculty governance, including attending department and committee meetings, and contributing to the development of policies and procedures.
- Engage in research and scholarship, publishing in relevant fields and presenting at conferences.
- A Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field, such as marketing, advertising, or public relations.
- Proven teaching experience, with a strong record of student learning and engagement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Familiarity with liberal arts education and the ability to develop curricula and courses that align with this approach.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and to communicate effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
