Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Geophysics R&D Project Leader to join our team in Pau, France. As a key member of our OneTech entity, you will play a crucial role in driving our company's transformation into a multi-energy company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in seismic imaging and inversion for hydrocarbon exploration and production, or CO2 storage monitoring.
  • Develop research ideas into practical software prototypes and conduct studies to test and validate these using synthetic and real datasets.
  • Transfer technology to operational teams, including documentation and collaboration with technology development and application teams.
  • Promote successful workflows and tools through internal reports, presentations, and training initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize implementation of resulting concepts and tools.
  • Aid in defining and selecting external collaborations and participate in following them up.
  • Make conference presentations and publish articles to enhance our company's reputation.
Requirements
  • Master's degree or PhD in Geophysics, Physics, or Applied Maths with numerical computation.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in geophysics or a related field.
  • Strong theoretical and practical background in seismic imaging, geophysical inversion, signal processing, and numerical analysis.
  • Familiarity with oil exploration, geophysics, wave propagation, seismic data processing, and inverse theory.
  • Well-developed skills in scientific programming using Fortran, C, or C++.
  • Experience with HPC and/or Python is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English or French, with working knowledge of the other language.
  • Machine learning skills are a plus.
