Job Description:

As a Senior Software Engineer on the API Frameworks team at Datadog, you will be responsible for building and maintaining web frameworks that support the development of Datadog's APIs and services. Your goal will be to make the developer experience as streamlined as possible, allowing engineers to focus on building safe and reliable products. You will work closely with engineering teams to understand their technical needs and help them improve velocity and deliver products to market faster.

Responsibilities:
  • Build reliable frameworks and libraries that empower teams to develop, maintain, and manage web-facing and internal applications.
  • Codify proven practices to improve developer experience and service reliability.
  • Define the future of our API Platform and supporting infrastructure.
  • Empower engineering teams to self-service, self-report day-to-day operations dealing with applications through tooling and automation.
  • Help define API standards and build tooling for maintaining these standards across all of Datadog.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience contributing to a software engineering team.
  • Experience with distributed web applications and running 24/7 production environments.
  • Experience with building and maintaining web frameworks and libraries and are familiar with open source frameworks.
  • Experience in Python, Golang, or Java.
