Job Title: Data Engineer - Database Specialist
Varenne Capital Partners is a global hedge fund with over 3 billion dollars of assets under management. Our team strives to achieve this goal by employing proprietary research and combining complementary investment frameworks in a single strategy: Long Equity, Short Equity, Merger Arbitrage and Tail Risk Hedging.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conception, implementation and maintenance of our databases
- Design and develop our ETL processes along with appropriate orchestration workflows
- Shape our data ecosystem to ensure scalability and robustness
- Provide investment teams with appropriate support for their data needs
- Manage relationships with data suppliers
Requirements:
- Proven track record in data engineering roles with 3 to 5 years of experience in designing, building and maintaining data pipelines in a financial environment.
- Degree in data-related master from engineering school or university.
- Proficient in SQL (PostgreSQL). Strong knowledge in Java or object-oriented languages. BI tools is a plus.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills. Teamwork oriented and strong desire to learn.
- Fluency in spoken and written English essential.
