Job Description

CGN Europe Energy is a leading developer, investor, and operator of renewable energy projects across Europe and Africa. We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Market Analyst to join our dynamic and innovative power marketing department.

The successful candidate will work closely with our team to optimize our renewable energy and certificates management and trading. Key responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities
  • Building and sharing expertise on regulatory frameworks and market structures in various geographies.
  • Integrating quantitative observations, market knowledge, and experience into business and strategic recommendations.
  • Assessing market fundamentals and trends, monitoring regulatory evolutions, identifying risks and opportunities, and developing go-to-market strategies.
  • Delivering long-term power markets analysis by leveraging external scenarios and models and developing internal ones.
  • Building optimization and modeling tools and delivering data-driven analysis to support the development of new business models.
  • Pan European Electricity, Gas, CO2, EEC, and Capacity Markets monitoring.
  • Developing sales and pricing strategies and tools in accordance with the risk policy.
  • Supervising and monitoring bidding operations and market performances.
  • Improving bidding strategies and tools to adapt to market conditions and maximize revenues.
  • Managing, analyzing, and structuring various electricity portfolios in conjunction with the portfolio management and front office teams.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Finance, or Data Science.
  • 5+ years of experience in the energy industry with a strong understanding of electricity markets.
  • Experience in European power markets and trading desk is strongly appreciated.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations and processes.
  • Technical and programming skills, ability to build and use complex models, including with libraries for Machine Learning.
  • Familiar with valuation/pricing models in commodities environments.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience of building models leveraging optimization and Data Science techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft package usage.
