Role Overview

Back Market is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Catalog Integration team within the Sellers Tribe (B2B). As a key member of our Engineering organization, you will be responsible for mentoring and coaching engineers, cultivating a collaborative team environment, and driving delivery of high-quality software that meets customer and seller needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of 6 engineers in delivering great software that meets customer and seller expectations
  • Collaborate with the product group and other tribes to align the team with company objectives and initiatives
  • Ensure the development of people and teams through ongoing coaching and mentoring
  • Create a team environment where team members feel supported and empowered to do their best work
  • Establish open communication and a culture of feedback between team members
  • Work in an agile environment where engineering teams build, launch, monitor, and support the sections they own
  • Identify and implement improvements in processes, practices, and product
  • Support teams in increasing delivery proficiency by creating a learning environment

Requirements
  • Experience and passion for growing, developing, and guiding people
  • Openness to receiving and giving feedback in a safe workplace
  • Interest in working in an environment where leaders support their teams to do great work
  • Enthusiasm about reaching new levels of effectiveness and quality
  • Background as an individual contributor and willingness to help when the team needs it
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Excitement to learn about how our industry works and the impact we bring to customers and the world
  • Experience working in agile development teams with knowledge of our tech stack: AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, RestFul API, Python, Django, VueJs, Nuxt, Datadog, Spinnaker, Nginx, UWSGI
  • Past experience in finance or payment is a strong asset
  • Proven experience in search & recommendation topics is a plus
