About the Project:
The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the "Seed Secure Meghalaya" project in Meghalaya, Shillong. The project aims to establish a low-cost formal and informal potato seed production system to enhance food security and income generation.
About the Role:
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project implementation and reporting. This includes supervising an interdisciplinary team of specialists, coordinating with project partners, and ensuring the project meets its objectives.
Requirements:
- M.Sc. / PhD degree in Seed Science, Horticulture, Vegetable Science, Agronomy, Plant Breeding, Soil Science, Plant Pathology, or Social Sciences.
- At least 5 years of experience in agricultural-related areas or project management.
- Strong knowledge of innovation systems research and underlying social science methodologies.
- Experience in coordinating multi-institutional collaboration and integrating gender and social equity considerations into project design and delivery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are a must; additional communication skills in Hindi are an asset.
