Position: Technical Events Support Manager

Location: Europe, the Middle East, and Africa

We are looking for a committed and proficient Technical Events Support Manager to enhance our operations. In this role, you will assist the Technical Events Manager in providing exceptional audio-visual services at various venues. You will serve as a vital link between our Operations and Sales departments, ensuring seamless execution and client satisfaction while upholding profitability and cost efficiency. This position reports directly to the Technical Events Manager, Cluster TEM, or Area Manager, offering a unique opportunity for professional growth in a vibrant setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Oversight:

  • Guide and manage the operations team in daily equipment setups and dismantling.
  • Ensure adequate staffing to meet operational demands and effectively assign tasks.
  • Coach and oversee the team to provide exceptional customer service and adhere to company standards in room arrangements.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with venue staff, team members, nearby locations, and suppliers.
  • Handle invoicing processes through the billing system, ensuring precision and timely execution.
  • Participate in operational meetings with venue personnel and advocate for a safe and healthy work environment, complying with all health and safety regulations.

Equipment Management:

  • Implement inventory control protocols to maintain appropriate equipment levels while ensuring safety, security, and quality.
  • Oversee on-site equipment inventory and prioritize internal sourcing before considering external rentals.
  • Guarantee timely delivery of all equipment in optimal working condition, meeting client requirements.
  • Maintain inventory in excellent condition and coordinate repairs as necessary.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and equipment for potential acquisition.

Team Development:

  • Encourage a positive workplace culture and support the professional growth of your team.
  • Provide continuous coaching to enhance team members' skills and manage HR functions such as recruitment, performance evaluation, and training.
  • Uphold a professional demeanor and ensure the team complies with company and venue standards.
  • Recommend and support training initiatives to elevate team members' skills and knowledge.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in audio-visual services.
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Familiarity with audio-visual equipment in a live event context.
  • Experience in pre-planning and executing large AV events.
  • Proficiency in computer hardware, software, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a focus on customer satisfaction.

Work Environment:

  • Work in a hotel or venue setting with varying exposure to outdoor elements, dirt, sand, and dust.

  • Be prepared for irregular hours, on-call status, and work across multiple locations, including weekends and holidays.
