Job Summary:

The Sales Director will lead the commercial activities for an assigned territory and/or portfolio of customer accounts, focusing on high-potential development and significant existing footprint of NAVBLUE products and services. This role is responsible for all commercial-related activities, including new sales, growing account revenue through up-selling and cross-selling, and contract renewals. The Sales Director will contribute to all selling-related activities, including prospecting, qualifying, account planning, account development strategy, consultative selling, contract negotiation and signature, and handover to delivery, while adhering to NAVBLUE standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities:

Within the designated territory and/or portfolio of customer accounts, the Sales Director will achieve new sales revenue and renewals to meet or exceed personal targets/quotas and specific business objectives assigned by NAVBLUE management. Key responsibilities include:

  • Understanding customer flight operations processes, procedures, tools, systems, and services, as well as customer needs and requests.
  • Maintaining expertise on NAVBLUE and partner products to identify up-sell opportunities and solve customer pains with NAVBLUE solutions.
  • Building high-quality relationships with decision-makers and maintaining awareness of issues affecting customers.
  • Establishing and implementing strategic account development plans for a limited list of strategic accounts within the assigned territory and/or portfolio of customer accounts.
  • Creating new opportunities based on in-depth understanding of market potential, customer requirements, and company capabilities.
  • Seeking opportunities for increased revenue through up-selling and cross-selling additional product lines, features, and services.
  • Managing contract renewals through effective negotiation of terms, conditions, pricing, and commitments that enhance profitability and business relationships with customers.
  • Developing commercial strategies, tactics, price target settings, and action plans to penetrate and grow awareness and sales of NAVBLUE's solutions in the assigned territory and/or portfolio of customer accounts.
  • Preparing and presenting clear, compelling, and persuasive sales presentations.
  • Effectively negotiating terms, conditions, pricing, and commitments that enhance profitability and business relationships.
  • Being proficient in the use of NAVBLUE's CRM tools and applying the sales process to maximize return on key ratios for visits and proposals.
  • Attending trade shows and user conferences as required.
  • Assisting Portfolio & Program organization and Marketing as required with reviewing specifications, determining priorities, and liaising with potential customers.
  • Coordinating between NAVBLUE internal customers as necessary to resolve invoicing/account receivables problems, contract/pricing issues, or any commercial issues.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7-10 years of complex sales/marketing experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of airline flight operations or practical experience in flight operations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of airline/aviation IT and application software.
  • In-depth knowledge of the airline industry.
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills, strong written and oral communication skills, and strong listening skills.
  • Project management and strategic account planning skills.
  • Achievement and results-oriented.
  • Willingness to travel considerably as required.
  • Able to function and work independently and confidently.
  • Drive and perseverance to ensure all opportunities are uncovered and pursued.
  • Strong entrepreneurial and mature spirit.

Travel Required:

Up to 70% domestic and international.
