Job Title: Cloud Senior R&D Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Senior R&D Engineer to join our team at Ansys. As a key member of our Cloud Service Provider (CSP) Marketplace team, you will be responsible for the development and configuration of software products and supporting systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in planning, architecture, and research to drive innovation and growth.
  • Perform complex development activities, including user experience, software design, and system architecture.
  • Employ best practices and help maintain them through technical reviews and mentoring.
  • Conduct complex bug verification, release testing, and beta support for assigned products.
  • Research and develop solutions to problems discovered by QA or product support.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and take on planning and mentoring responsibilities.
Requirements:
  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5 years' experience, MS with 3 years' experience.
  • Commercial experience with software design and development methodologies.
  • Commercial experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, REST API.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Linux operating system internals.
  • Strong experience configuring and managing Linux systems in a cloud environment.
  • Experience with virtual machines, containers, and orchestration platforms/tools.
  • Practical experience with automation/configuration tools (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet...).
  • Understanding of server hardware components, especially in a HPC environment.
  • Good familiarity with common networking protocols and remote visualization protocols.
  • Technical knowledge with web development, object-oriented design, software configuration management, scripting languages, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Passion for crafting robust and efficient code.
  • Experience delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development environment.
  • Understanding of customer requirements and tools used in this domain.
  • Ability to diagnose and identify problems spanning multiple layers of abstraction.
  • Strong sense of ownership.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a geographically distributed team.
