The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Authorization and Billing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our financial workflow, you will be responsible for ensuring a patient's visit is financially secured through efficient authorization and billing processes. Your expertise will be instrumental in navigating the intricate world of healthcare billing and authorization.
Responsibilities
- Data Accuracy: Collect and review patient demographic and insurance data to ensure accurate authorization and billing.
- Documentation Management: Collect and submit necessary documentation and diagnoses for authorizations.
- Follow-Up Expert: Provide daily updates on authorization request status to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Reimbursement Maximiser: Focus on ensuring maximum reimbursement through meticulous billing and coding for all services rendered.
- Claims Specialist: Manage the full claims process, from creation to follow-up, handling insurance inquiries with expertise.
- HIPAA Guardian: Uphold strict confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Insurance Liaison: Confirm and document patient health insurance details, including effective dates, network status, and coverage requirements.
- Problem Solver: Utilize problem-solving skills to address issues arising from insurance coverage or prior authorizations.
- Knowledge Maintainer: Stay updated on contract limitations and details for each Managed Care Plan (MCP) and services offered by Rooted Life.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in Authorizations and/or Medical Billing within the Healthcare industry.
- Working knowledge of Medical Billing, Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), and Insurance Authorizations.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort with numerical data.
- Highly goal-driven and able to work in fast-paced environments.
- Strong attention to detail and delivery of high-quality work.
- Knowledge of insurance verification, prior-authorization, and office coordination.
