Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our agile team, you will be responsible for leading user story elaboration, design, development, testing, and implementation of software applications and infrastructure-as-code.
Key Responsibilities- Software Development: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, unit tests, automation, and conduct code reviews and testing.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other team architects, engineers, and vendors as necessary to ensure successful project delivery.
- Technology Adoption: Identify exciting opportunities for adopting new technologies to solve existing needs and predict future challenges.
- Code Refactoring: Perform ongoing refactoring of code, utilizing visualization and other techniques to fast-track concepts, and deliver continuous improvement.
- Deployment and Support: Enable the deployment, support, and monitoring of software across test, integration, and production environments.
- Feature Prioritization: Work with product managers to prioritize features for ongoing sprints and manage a list of technical requirements based on industry trends, new technologies, known defects, and issues.
- Stakeholder Management: Work along with stakeholders to understand and analyze requirements.
- Culture of Innovation: Lead a culture of innovation and experimentation, engaging in fun and outcome-oriented culture, and taking calculated risks that push the envelope.
- Emerging Technologies: Actively study new and emerging technologies, rapidly prototype, and carry out POCs.
- Documentation and Standards: Maintain documentation, coding standards, and style guides.
- Application Performance: Optimize application performance, quality, and delivery to defined organizational standards and best practices.
- Time Management: Manage your own time, and work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Mentorship: Serve as a mentor for junior and new engineers and peers in the software development practice to help them grow in their technical responsibilities and remove blockers.
- Software Development Experience: 4+ years of software development experience and able to work independently.
- Technical Skills: Proficient using React and React-Native, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript. Proficient in at least one server-side programming technology such as NodeJS, Python, Java.
- API Technologies: Knowledgeable in modern API technologies, architecture, and design practices and protocols with hands-on experience using one or more API technologies (Open API, REST, RPC, GraphQL, Micro-Services, Serverless).
- Cloud Technologies: Have experience in designing and building Cloud native applications. Experience in cloud technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Terraform is a plus.
- Public Cloud: Working knowledge of public cloud (e.g. AWS) is a plus.
- Programming Concepts: Able to apply core programming concepts to learn and develop in a new language to meet project requirements.
- NoSQL Databases: Experience in using NoSQL databases and distributed messaging systems such as Redis, Kafka etc.
- Continuous Integration/Deployment: Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment tools such as Gitlab Pipelines/Jenkins/GitHub.
- Communication Skills: Proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Education: BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
