About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Banking and Financial Law Specialist to join our Standard Chartered Bank AG legal team in Paris. As a key member of our team, you will provide legal support on transactions and projects related to Financial Markets, working closely with our business units and global Legal team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on transactions and projects related to Financial Markets, including syndicated facilities, project finance, and trade finance guarantees.
- Collaborate with our business units and global Legal team to develop and implement legal strategies and policies.
- Support the Head of Legal, France in legal risk governance matters, including outsourcing management and policy management.
- Assist with the review of financing documentation and trade finance guarantees.
- Support the development and implementation of contract templates for Financial Markets business.
Requirements
- University degree in French banking and financial law.
- 5 years of professional experience in a financial institution and/or a law firm in France or abroad.
- Expertise in general banking and financial law, with a focus on Financial Markets.
- Familiarity with negotiating ISDA, GMRA, GMSLA, and collateral agreements.
- Commercial acumen and the ability to understand and evaluate business requirements in managing legal risk.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in English and French.
