Key Responsibilities:

As the Spa Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Spa and Fitness Centre. This includes:

  • Maximizing employee productivity through effective scheduling and training.
  • Preparing and managing the department's budget and forecasts.
  • Monitoring costs and implementing measures to control them.
  • Ensuring the Spa and Fitness Centre operates successfully and is individually profitable.
  • Ensuring all services offered meet the highest standards of efficiency and courtesy.
  • Conducting regular walk-throughs to ensure the facility is in 100% working order.
  • Reviewing and improving operational procedures as necessary.
  • Ensuring manning and facility utilization are maximized.
  • Ensuring the spa team is aware of monthly budget and individual retail and service targets.
  • Conducting spot checks on stock levels to ensure stock is secure and tightly controlled.
  • Maintaining a high profile within the Spa and Fitness Centre by becoming involved with activities and promoting a culture of fitness and health.


Customer Service:

As the Spa Operations Manager, you will also be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service. This includes:

  • Establishing rapport with guests and maintaining good customer relationships.
  • Handling guest complaints, requests, and enquiries in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Verifying that all guests are receiving the best possible service in line with the Spa Experience Programme and hotel standards.
  • Ensuring high visibility and being on the floor of the facility throughout the day.
  • Awareness of all current promotions, policy changes, and memorandums.
  • Ensuring guest history is updated at all times.
  • Implementing a guest recognition programme and maintaining a relevant guest database.
  • Ensuring staff maintains timing in relation to treatments to avoid any unnecessary delays.


Marketing:

As the Spa Operations Manager, you will also be responsible for marketing the Spa and Fitness Centre. This includes:

  • Greeting VIP guests and press personally.
  • Attending functions and promotions for the Spa and Fitness Centre as necessary.
  • Maintaining a high profile within the local spa industry.
  • Creating necessary promotions to yield manage the Spa peaks and troughs.
  • Analyzing the spa consumer and ensuring we have the appropriate promotions on offer.
  • Working with product houses for product launches and press launches.
  • Cross-promoting with other departments to maximize awareness of the spa.
  • Ensuring all collateral is in keeping with Pullman standards.
  • Coordinating with the DOM on associations with credit cards, airlines, and corporate accounts.


General Duty:

As the Spa Operations Manager, you will also be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the Spa and Fitness Centre. This includes:

  • Ensuring all spa employees are fully aware of the Spa Experience Programme.
  • Ensuring all spa employees complete their personal syllabus training programme.
  • Ensuring employees report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and nametag at all times.
  • Ensuring all employees adhere to the established standards of hygiene and grooming.
  • Assisting in the building of efficient management and employee teams by taking an active interest in their welfare, safety, training, and development.
  • Arranging and supervising bi-monthly training sessions of spa treatments.
  • Ensuring all employees have a complete understanding of the hotel's policy and procedures.
  • Conducting annual Performance Development Discussions with employees and supporting them in their professional development goals.
  • Interviewing new potential employees in liaison with the Human Resources Department.
