We are supporting a leading independent global private equity firm in hiring a Senior Associate for their Paris investment team. The firm manages significant capital and specializes in the secondary market, acquiring positions in private equity funds and direct stakes in mid-market companies across Europe and North America.

This is a pure-play
buyside role
. The Senior Associate will join a compact, high-performance investment team, gaining exposure to complex deal structuring, portfolio pricing, and cross-border transactions. Unlike advisory roles, this position requires an investor mindset—focusing on capital allocation, risk assessment, and long-term value creation.

The ideal candidate brings rigorous financial modelling skills from a Top Tier Investment Bank (M&A or Leveraged Finance) or an existing Private Equity fund and is looking to step into a role with high deal flow and global reach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investment Analysis:
    Screen and evaluate new secondary investment opportunities (LP interests, GP-led restructurings, and secondary direct transactions).

  • Financial Modelling:
    Build and own complex financial models to price portfolios and single assets; perform sensitivity analysis, cash flow projections, and return scenarios (IRR/MOIC).

  • Due Diligence:
    Lead the deep-dive analysis of underlying portfolio companies; review data rooms and conduct commercial and financial assessment of assets.

  • Investment Committee:
    Draft and present high-quality investment memoranda to the Partners, clearly articulating the investment thesis, pricing rationale, and key risks.

  • Transaction Execution:
    Manage the execution phase, including legal structuring and coordination with external legal counsels to close deals.

  • Market Intelligence:
    Monitor trends in the global private equity secondary market.

Candidate Profile

  • 4–6 years of experience
    strictly within
    Investment Banking (M&A / Leveraged Finance)
    at a Tier-1 Bank or Boutique, or prior experience in
    Private Equity
    .

  • Strong academic background from a Top Tier Business School or Engineering School

  • Advanced technical skillset: extensive experience building LBO models and valuing illiquid assets from scratch.

  • Commercial Judgment: Ability to look beyond the numbers to assess the quality of an asset and the viability of a deal.

  • Fluent in French and English
    (daily working languages).

  • High level of autonomy and ability to work in a flat, entrepreneurial structure.
