Position Summary

Our
Accountant role
is responsible for the
general accounting and statutory compliance
of our French and Belgian entities. This role ensures that financial data is accurately and timely recorded within
SAP Business ByDesign (BYD)
in accordance with respectively
French and Belgian GAAP
and local regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will navigate a multicultural environment, acting as the primary point of contact for local compliance and international group reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • General Ledger Management:
    Execute and oversee all financial transactions for our French and Belgian entities using
    SAP BYD
    .
  • Month-End Close:
    Manage the full monthly closing cycle, including bank and intercompany reconciliations and coordinate with internal departments to ensure all expenses and revenues are recognised in the correct period.
  • Financial Reporting:
    Prepare and deliver comprehensive monthly reports on the Company's financial position and performance (balance sheet, profit and loss statement, group reporting pack).
  • Tax & Social Compliance:
    Prepare and file all tax and social declarations (VAT, corporate income tax, etc.) in compliance with local regulations.
  • Regulatory Monitoring:
    Stay updated on applicable accounting and financial laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • GAAP Expertise:
    Serve as the subject matter expert for
    local GAAPs
    . Ensure all filings meet local Belgian and French statutory standards.
  • Collaborative Process Improvement:
    Partner with the Accounting Analyst (France), our external accounting Firms and our consultants to insource and optimise accounting workflows while strengthening internal controls to ensure long-term operational excellence.
  • Internal Controls:
    Maintain robust documentation for internal and external audits and ensure compliance with corporate policies.

Competencies and Requirements

  • Analytical Skills:
    High capacity for data investigation and synthesis of complex financial information
  • Bilingual Communication:
    Fluency in French and English
    is required to bridge the gap between local entities and the international group.

Requirements

  • Place of work
    : Cormeilles-en-Parisis, France. The rôle needs to be performed at the office 3 days a week.

Education & Experience

  • Degree:
    University degree in Accounting
  • Experience:
    Minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience
  • GAAP Expertise:
    Expert-level knowledge of French GAAP is mandatory
  • System Proficiency:
    Hands-on experience with
    SAP Business ByDesign (BYD)
    is highly preferred
  • International Scope:
    Experience in
    large international groups
    is a strong asset
  • Bonus Qualifications:
    Working knowledge of
    US GAAP

Language Skills

  • French:
    Native or Bilingual proficiency
  • English:
    Native or Bilingual proficiency (mandatory)
