LDC Productivity Manager

Mission:

As a cost engineer at Otis, you will play a critical role in gathering and analyzing information to develop detailed bottom-up cost models for our various products and projects, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations. You will work closely with colleagues in engineering and operations as well as our suppliers to align on the cost drivers and their implications as well as helping capture value through fact-based supplier negotiations, teardown workshops and benchmarking activities.

This role requires a self-starter, who can develop a clear vision in conjunction with the leadership direction and pull in relevant expertise across Otis to get to the best answer backed by a solid fact base. You must be a strategic thinker with a strong technical/engineering background and a great people leader who is able to influence, excite and motivate the teams around them.

In a second but linked dimension, you are missioned as SCH-B champion for the site Train. You are therefore accountable for our productivity contribution delivery to the P&L. You prepare next year plan and daily monitor in year plan execution. In that regard, you ensure alignment and fact based loading of PSR uploads months after months. You are member of site train steering committee as specific productivity initiative owner for reporting out and escalating required attentions and actions to keep our Train commitment to deliver.

You are visible to top level Management, you are impact full on our business delivery and your performance is driver for recognition.

Dotted line to EMEA Material Productivity Director

Products/volume: LDC Gien products ~ 140 M$ sales in 2023;.

Direct/indirect reports: 1

Travel Time: max 10% travel

Responsibilities:

Build detailed cost models for Otis products, conduct product teardowns, and develop a detailed fact-based understanding of cost drivers to find cost optimization opportunities Facilitate / organize ideation meetings, workshops, benchmarking and clean sheet exercises with cross functional teams and lead discussions related to design/cost trade-offs Create structured documents with a clear story line and synthesis of findings and opportunities (business impact and effort sizing) Aid in implementing identified opportunities from benchmarking events, supplier workshops and other research findings during the product development process working closely with Train Product Manager and Product Owners Work together and able to influence and motivate global cross-functional teams on productivity initiatives Program management of selected, as main productivity initiative owner – help drive impact to bottom line productivity result. Be a team player and have genuine desire to learn about broader Engineering and Operations headwinds. Game never over, never give up.

Maintain solid pipeline of productivity opportunities on our product fleet, consolidate next year plan and commit to it Meet our Site SCH-B Plan 100% Report every month at due date into PSR tool, single source of truth Monitor with solid risk assessment and justified confidence factors the FY LE Report out on monthly basis R&O vs FY LE

Education, Qualifications:

Prior design engineering or R&D experience, ideally Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. Proven track record of managing projects. Demonstrated experience in transversal program management. Ability to report with clarity, transparence to an executive audience. Demonstrated flexibility / adaptability in high stress, ambiguous environments. Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize, organize teamwork within cross functional and international teams. Knowledge of manufacturing operations a real plus.
