The MEH Alliance on Hinkley Point C, is seeking an experienced candidate to fill the new and challenging role of a Project Engineer on site at Bridgewater, Somerset.
Accountabilites:
Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project. Ensuring all site activities are undertaken safely and responsibly, and in accordance with the CDM Regulations. Review emergent engineering tasks, review, and develop a response of seek support from the wider engineering team. Monitoring compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications. Raising engineering technical queries and monitoring progress. Review construction engineering deliverables as issued by the client and ensure the team are working to the latest issue. Develop proposals to improve construction methods. Support the Site Wide Team as required with emergent and ongoing scope as directed by a Senior project engineer or the SW Engineering Coordination Lead.Key Deliverables:
Supporting the Site Wide Leads to deliver the scope. Develop and implement management solutions for the Site Wide Team to keep the leads accountable for their scope. Construction method improvement plans. Development of Method Statements. Review of construction documentation. Chair or support construction reviews. Weekly consolidated construction reports. Weekly update of construction progress notice boards. Coordination of project photography and pictorial progress report. Lead and foster a positive Nuclear Safety Culture.Minimum qualifications/experience:
Relevant degree in construction or mechanical or electrical engineering,orHND/HNC in construction or mechanical or electrical engineering with 5 years’ experience working in a Project Engineering (Construction) role,or10 years’ experience in a Project Engineering (Construction) role.IOSH Managing Safely (preferred).CCNSG Safety Passport.Capable of obtaining security clearance of BPSS or higher.Professional accreditation desirable.AutoCAD and Navis Works knowledge.APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (preferred).Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.Proven experience or safely delivering large scale construction or engineering projects including working at a management level of authority. Experience in the heavy industry or nuclear sectors is beneficial as is experience in working with Joint Ventures.Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics.Required values and attributed behaviours:
