About the Role
As a Cybersecurity Intern, you will work with experienced professionals to safeguard critical data, networks, and systems. You'll gain exposure to cutting-edge tools, techniques, and real-world cybersecurity problems, while building a strong foundation in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security systems for potential vulnerabilities and cyber threats.
- Assist in conducting risk assessments and implementing security measures.
- Help maintain and improve firewalls, encryption, and access controls.
- Support the development and testing of security protocols and policies.
- Assist in incident response and mitigation of security breaches.
- Research emerging cybersecurity trends, threats, and mitigation strategies.
- Help ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.
- Work on penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and secure coding practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and antivirus software.
- Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, and protocols.
- Understanding of encryption, authentication, and data protection practices.
- Experience with operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix) and security tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify security threats.
- Excellent communication skills to report on security findings and recommend solutions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment both independently and within a team.
