About LOKAD

Lokad is a company created in 2008 and specialized in supply chain optimization. We help companies from different sectors (aeronautics, fashion, e-commerce, automotive…) to forecast and make decisions regarding their inventories. The majority of our clients are based outside of France, mainly in North America and Europe. Our team of about 50 people is entirely based in Paris, but composed of international profiles, mostly engineers. Lokad is growing rapidly and is always looking for people who can grow with the company

Job description

At Lokad, you will be joining a team of talented software engineers to improve our platform dedicated to the predictive optimization of supply chains. We tackle tough real-world problems, and our clients are literally dependent on us to keep their stores, warehouses or plants working.

As a Front-End Engineer, you will be working with a UX designer to implement new features into our core application, and participate in our ongoing efforts of user interface modernization and improvement.

Lokad places a great on the use of static analysis for code correctness, so all front-end development is done in TypeScript and React. The design of client-server interactions is key to performance, so Lokad uses the backend-for-frontend pattern to avoid chatty APIs.

Server-side, Lokad uses C# and F# running on Linux VMs on Microsoft Azure. Day-to-day work is done with Visual Studio Code and Visual Studio, with a code review system based on pull requests.

Our offices are located in central Paris right by the subway station Chevaleret.

Profile

While experience in exactly our software stack (TypeScript, React) is most welcome, we are also open to candidates with a more varied experience. The three essential requirements are:

  • Good technical knowledge of how the web works ( HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Proficiency in a language with a strong, static type system (TypeScript, F#, Haskell, Elixir...).
  • A habit of finding and fixing the root cause, instead of only solving the symptoms of a problem.

While not required, we would also be very happy with the following:

  • Experience with WebAssembly and working with binary data in TypeScript.
  • Basic working knowledge of React, Jest, npm and Webpack.
  • Knowledge of, or interest in, C# and .NET.
