In a growing international context, we are recruiting for our client based in Angola, a Hydrographic Surveyor H/F .

Reporting to the Subsea Manager, the position holder will be responsible for overseeing survey and positioning activities, as well as managing third-party ROV assets on offshore vessels and installations. He/she may be required to meet clients for technical discussions under the supervision of his/her superior, while ensuring the link between onshore management and offshore project teams.

Position and principal missions:

Assist in the selection of survey equipment prior to project commencement

  • Perform navigation and positioning duties as required in line with project deliverables
  • Ensure integrity and functionality of the survey spread is maintained throughout the lifecycle of the project
  • Maintain up to date and accurate vessel survey folders, handover notes and surveying logs during operational period and compilation of project survey report
  • QC of report with Inspection Manager
  • To supervise and QC data from additional Surveyors
  • To appraise Survey personnel performance in the execution of the work such that any training requirements are identified in accordance with the Company’s competency scheme
  • Review Survey procedures for currency, coverage and relevance for feedback to management
  • Participate in conducting risk assessment
  • Keep up to date with relevant technical developments, working practices in line with industry and legislative guidelines
  • Undertake any other duties as the Company may reasonably require.

Link with ROV Operations:

  • Liaising with the ROV supervisor to ensure correct data gathering equipment sensors are fitted to the ROV, liaison with offshore client representatives
  • Prepare and maintain calibration reports

Communication:

  • Attend meetings with client representatives
  • Creation and transmission of daily and weekly reports including daily logs, personnel timesheets.

This position does not require a specific degree but demands a blend of technical proficiency and practical experience in survey calibrations, with a minimum of three years in a similar role. Membership in a relevant professional body, such as CICES, is advantageous. The role request strong skills in using software like MBES and/or INS for surveys, as well as proficiency in Excel and Word for daily tasks.

Due to the international dimension of our group, fluency in English is necessary. Proficiency in French would be an asset.
