Our client is a major oil and multi-energy operator that produces and markets energy globally. They have activities in 130 countries and are developing CAPEX projects across all energy areas.
About the project
This project is for a new offshore South America development that will include reservoir developments, the lease and operation of FPSOs and subsea production/injection systems in shallow and deep waters.
About the role
- Exemplary Behavior : Adopt and demonstrate exemplary behaviour regarding HSE.
- HSE Implementation : Implement HSE rules and requirements within your area of responsibility.
Management & Governance:
- Technical Solutions : Proactively propose alternative technical solutions, considering project constraints.
- Reporting : Ensure adequate and timely reporting to the UFR Technical Lead, anticipating problems, optimising, and offering solutions.
- Project Reviews : Actively participate in Project Reviews (HAZOP, HAZID, SPOT, PR) and safety/technical audits for installation engineering.
Execution Phases:
- Contractor Selection : Participate in the selection process for contractors (Detailed Engineering, Construction, and Installation), including developing RFQ, ITT documents, clarifications, and awards.
- Supervision & Control : Supervise and control Detailed Engineering by reviewing and validating contractor documentation (technical documentation, queries, derogation requests), ensuring compliance with SOR, project specifications, General Specifications, discipline requirements, international norms, and standards, focusing on schedule, cost, quality, and safety.
- Documentation Review : Raise comments on unsafe design, deviations, unacceptable or unjustified design choices, constructability, installation, and pre-commissioning issues.
- Meetings : Participate in regular or specific meetings with contractors as required.
- Interdisciplinary Interface : Actively interface with other discipline engineers and package engineers on engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance matters to ensure work consistency.
- Offshore Works Preparation : Interface with relevant entities of the Angola affiliates to ensure timely authorizations for site operations.
- Offshore Activities : Participate in loadouts, installation phases, tests, commissioning, and handover during offshore work campaigns.
- Safety Practices : Ensure the use of safe working practices within the team during all project phases, especially onboard installation vessels during installation campaigns.
- Supervision : Take part in the supervision team for UFR offshore activities throughout the offshore campaign up to commissioning.
Experience
- Master’s degree in engineering, with specialization in subsea pipelines and risers.
- At least 15 years of professional experience in Oil & Gas deepwater projects as an Installation Engineer, onshore and offshore.
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
- Rigid Pipeline installation, S Lay, J Lay,
- Transportation, Subsea
- Project Execution, experience in installation techniques for pipelines and subsea equipment, , installation methods (e.g. ROVs, diving operations),
- Knowledge of international and local maritime regulations (e.g. IMO, SOLAS), Installation engineering analysis software (e.g. OrcaFlex, SACS), CAD
- Good communication skills, dynamism, high motivation, ability to convince, organization, leadership, and ability to put issues into perspective. Ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment.
