Contract Type : Permanent

With growth and increasing complexity within Royal Canin’s Commercial team, a robust team of experts is essential to manage the inbound supply chain for direct materials delivered to EU DRY & WET factories. The Commercial Operations function acts as the central hub, connecting Commercial with key internal and external stakeholders.

In this context, the Commercial OPS Head drives positive changes, guides the team, and ensures continuous process improvement in the inbound supply chain. Internally, they collaborate with stakeholders at global, regional, or local levels across Petcare and other segments. Externally, they engage with our suppliers.

The Commercial Operations Head oversees the European Inbound Supply Chain of Raw & Packaging Materials and plays a crucial role in implementing successful Regional & Global Strategic Sourcing Strategies across Petcare manufacturing sites in the EU

As the EU Commercial Operations Head, you’ll be at the forefront of driving excellence in the inbound supply chain for Royal Canin. Your strategic mindset and collaborative approach will be essential as you lead a team of associates across multiple countries. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and ensuring consistent deployment of commercial practices. Beyond that, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of supply chain digitalization, leveraging analytics, automation, and AI capabilities. Your impact will extend beyond the organization, as you collaborate externally with suppliers and contribute to the success of the entire EU Supply network. This role offers a unique blend of leadership, strategy, and operational execution, making it an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about procurement operations management and driving positive change

What are we looking for?

  • With a decade of procurement experience spanning commercial, supply chain, and R&D functions, you bring a wealth of knowledge to the table.

  •  You possess an intricate knowledge of raw and packaging materials, along with the intricacies of conversion processes.

  • You’ve successfully crafted inbound pipeline strategies that align seamlessly with business goals, ensuring a smooth flow of materials.

  • You have the ability to manage a large team, demonstrating strong leadership capabilities, effective communication skills, and the ability to influence others.

  • You embrace a growth mindset and agility, always willing to experiment, try new things, and explore innovative ways of working.

  • You are very interested in implementing new ways of working, digitalizing our procurement activities, challenging existing processes, and offering fresh perspectives on Data & Analytics, digitalization, and automation

  • Language Skills: Fluent in English, you wield it adeptly. And if you happen to speak other languages like French, consider it an extra asset.

  • Expect 10% to 20% travel—a chance for you to explore new horizons while making a significant impact.

 

What would be your key responsibilities?

Great Line Management

  • Responsible for building regional OPS & Inbound Supply Chain capabilities, technical & functional skills

  • Allocate resources to deploy materials in categories in response to the Innovation Pipeline, support Active Crisis Management plan and DIB initiatives.

  • Attract talent, retain experts and build deep category expertise to reach the highest supply/quality performance to serve the business

  • Ensure consistency of the Team objectives and PDP with Team intent and strategy

  • Responsible of her/his team engagement and action plan

Operations Excellence

  • Engage the EU Commercial Operations Team in deploying the Commercial vision and strategy

  • Optimize Inbound Supply Chain with factories and suppliers’ management

  • Support Commercial Digitalization journey and assure the deployment of KPI’s, Automation & new tools with consistency & efficiency

  • Give best in class OPS analytics & business visibility

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with relevant internal stakeholders (SQA, Sourcing, Indirect) and external experts to deploy global/regional business strategies

  • Support the development & deployment of lean inbound supply chain strategies for packaging and/or raw materials with supply planning & inbound team

  • Participate & be active member of Global COLT ( Commercial Operations Leadership Team)

  • Develop and support collaboration with Petcare OPS community
