The ambition of the COMPO Inria-Inserm joint project-team is to develop novel mathematical models integrating data available in clinical oncology (from clinical trials and routine care), in order to provide decision-making tools to medical oncologists, thoracic surgeons and preventive oncology staff.
To achieve these, the team uniquely gathers mathematicians, pharmacologists, medical oncologists and surgeons. The PhD theme and datasetsThe aim of the PhD will be to develop and validate clinically usable predictive and mechanistic models of lung cancer development and recurrence in the setting of lung cancer screening, early stage diagnosis and treatment conceptualized in lung cancer interception.
Further validation will be possible harnessing a real life population based prospective study reporting regional data on lung cancer screening, early diagnosis and multimodal treatments, named DATALUNG PACA.
The PhD student will be mentored by a senior data scientist / mathematician (Pr D Barbolosi) and by a thoracic surgeon (Pr D Boulate, PI of PREVALUNGs and DATALUNG PACA studies).
