Staff Accountant

About the Team:

As a Staff Accountant you will be part of an established global accounting organisation. You will be the primary accountant responsible for our Singapore and Korea legal entities and will report to a local Accounting Manager. Your goal will be to provide, comprehensive and accurate financial information to support decision-making and drive growth, with a focus on integrity and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update accounting records and files.
• Prepare and record journal entries by compiling and analysing account information.
• Perform month end close activities, including calculating and recording necessary accruals.
• Perform month end reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts and for payroll activity.
• Prepare invoices for intercompany transactions based on relevant intercompany activity and ensure all such activity is recorded in the general ledger.
• Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
• Liaise with the Accounting Manager and work to improve financial processes.
• Provide information and support to local 3rd party accounting vendors to meet local requirements, including statutory filings and VAT returns.
• Complete external audit by analysing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors.
• Assist with ad hoc treasury related requests.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• At least 2-3 years' experiences in accounting/finance
• CPA preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Verbal and written communication skills in both English and Korean
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to read and analyse financial information and attention to details

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
