DevOps Engineer

  • Job Title: DevOps Engineer

  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days on-site, 3 days remote)

I am working with a top IT consultancy assisting a leading company in the automotive industry to find a skilled DevOps Tooling Engineer to join their team on a long-term freelance basis. This engineer will have a key role in supporting and improving the development and deployment processes to ensure top-notch code quality and efficient deployment.

The company I'm working with has nearly half a century of market experience, establishing their brand as a household name in the tech world. The opportunities for career growth are vast.

We have a strong partnership with the client and have successfully placed many contractors with them.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist Project Teams:

  • Administer and support a range of advanced development tools.
  • Standardize and optimize development and deployment practices to maintain high code quality and follow best practices.
  • Implement and oversee sophisticated versioning strategies using customized Git workflows.

Enhance Jenkins CI/CD Deployment:

  • Drive the advancement of deployment processes for new projects and improve existing ones.
  • Promote best practices to enhance efficiency and minimize risks.
  • Integrate cutting-edge technologies and pipeline modules (e.g., Jira integration, API publishing, dependency management).
  • Create user-friendly dashboards for clear visibility on pipeline status and content.

Strengthen Quality Approaches:

  • Integrate and manage top-tier code quality control tools (SonarQube, Fortify) with detailed dashboards.
  • Promote automated testing processes to ensure strong, high-quality deliverables and deployments.
  • Efficiently link business applications with leading monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, ELK, Centreon, Dynatrace).

Support and Integration:

  • Offer expert support daily through a dedicated Jira system.
  • Implement and integrate advanced DevOps toolchain services.
  • Develop operational and usage guidelines for various services.
  • Regularly provide updates on activities, progress, and potential risks.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Proven track record as a DevOps Engineer with successful projects.
  • Proficiency in Jenkins CI/CD, SonarQube, BitBucket, GitLab, Nexus, Splunk, and Fortify.
  • Deep understanding of code quality controls and automated testing processes.
  • Familiarity with leading monitoring tools like Splunk, ELK, Centreon, or Dynatrace.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to excel in a hybrid work setting, both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
