Job Purpose/Role
The Economic Research Department's primary goal is to analyze macroeconomic and corporate trends globally, evaluate country and industry risks, and conduct in-depth analyses on key themes like global trade, protectionism, insolvencies, payment behavior, and sustainability, benefiting both internal strategic decisions and external brand awareness.
As a Senior Financial Analyst, your role involves monitoring macroeconomic and corporate trends in consumer-related industries (retail, auto, durables, textile, consumer services) and tech sectors (electronics, computer & telecoms, software services, etc.). You will be accountable for conducting detailed analysis on these sectors' financial status, future prospects, and producing impactful research reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly monitor industry trends to enhance macro and market analysis and support informed commercial and risk decisions (update forecasts, maintain databases, follow panels, respond to operational queries)
- Create high-quality reports and presentations on industry developments, sector risks, and company-related issues (insolvencies, DSO, credit ratings, earning seasons, equity performance, M&A) to expand Allianz Trade's reach (draft analytical reports, deliver client, prospect, and media presentations)
- Conduct ad-hoc research, introduce new indicators, establish databases, utilize proprietary databases, and develop tools
- Delve into research on cutting-edge topics related to industries like digitalization, AI, sustainability, etc.
Key Requirements/Skills/Experience
- Knowledge of micro-economy, corporate finance, and statistics with an interest in macroeconomics
- 2 to 5 years' experience in financial analysis or research
- Excellent writing abilities
- Familiarity with macroeconomics is advantageous
- Ability to work in a global setting
- Strong teamwork skills
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with financial data providers like Refinitiv Eikon and Bloomberg
- Skills in econometrics, data science, and Python programming are a plus
- Proficiency in English, knowledge of another European language is beneficial (French, German, Spanish)
