The Lab School Paris is a non-profit independent, innovative, bilingual, socially-minded, secular and eco-responsible school. In , 120 students are enrolled from CP to 2nde (1st to 10th grade), divided into five classes (multi-age, multi-level). Its pedagogy is inspired on the one hand by the contribution of pioneers of educational innovation such as John Dewey, Célestin Freinet, Paulo Freire or Maria Montessori, and on the other hand by current research in the field of education (educational sciences, psychology, sociology, cognitive sciences).

In anticipation of the opening of the IB Diploma Program, the school is recruiting a part-time teacher to handle the instruction of grades 9 biology (in preparation for the Brevet des collèges), grade 10 biology , and grade 11 for the IB DP year 1 for biology and physics. A previous experience as an IB high school teacher is essential.

The teacher will work as part of an international team of French and English speaking elementary school and middle school teachers, a collegial management team, and an administrative officer.

Your Role

In close collaboration with the management team, your main mission will be to ensure the implementation of the educational project of the Lab School Paris through the teaching of Biology to 9th, 10th, and 11th grades (3e, 2nde, 1ere IB) and the teaching of Physics for 11th grade.

Specific tasks

To develop a relationship of trust with the students; to value their successes and their daily progress, to accompany them in the acquisition of autonomy through differentiated teachingTo design and implement lessons aiming an efficient acquisition of knowledge and competences, in reference to the school program contents and the research recommendations, in collaboration with the teachers of the same level, and in dialogue with the colleagues from other levels and the management teamTo ensure the preparation of the "brevet des collèges" for 9th grade students in BiologyTo ensure the preparation of the IB Diploma Program for the 11th grade students in biology and physicsTo participate in interdisciplinary school projectsTo exchange with parents and dialogue with Lab School Network researchersTo engage in the school daily life: weekly pedagogical meetings, seminars (one Saturday per period and two two-day seminars at the end and the start of the school year)Required SkillsQualified teacher with a good knowledge of the French curriculum (cycle 4 and lycée)Experience with the IB approach and the DP program is essentialFrench-English bilingual speaker or an excellent command of both languagesTaste for teamwork and interest in research and pedagogical innovation (cooperative pedagogies, flipped classroom, EdTech)Creativity, reactivity, initiative, opennessExperience in the use of digital tools in the classroomWillingness to engage in a lifelong learning approachRemuneration according to profilePart-time position: approximately 414 hours of face to face lessons, equivalent to 11.5 hours per week Immediate discussions and participation in work meetings after the positive answer to your application will be needed in order to ensure a smooth start to the job.To apply, please send your CV with a cover letter and list of reference at
