Pacific International's Transportation and Logistics practice has been retained by the global headquarters of this leading logistics operator covering EMEA. As part of a renowned maritime and logistics supply chain network, they continue to grow in their core markets by extending the value chain of customer solutions through their port terminals and logistics hubs.

In the position of Global Lean Transformation Manager, you'll get the opportunity to shape the strategic direction of their Operational Excellence whilst working with the senior leadership teams across the EMEA region to drive and maximise performance from safety and quality to costs and deadlines.

Working closely with the local entities in Africa, from the center of excellence in Paris, you will have the scope and visibility to develop and grow in to Operational / COO leading positions in firm as you embed the OPEX culture in the business operating in an internal consulting capacity. Initially, you will work with the business unit Managing Directors to implement best practices and methodologies, coaching local Operational Excellence / Lean Managers and providing strategic long-term input to grow the program.

The Operational Excellence Consultant will support all the African entities of the Port Terminals or Logistics Business Units in their Operational Excellence activities and ensuring that best practices are maintained and shared across terminals.

In the first 12 months, the right candidate will be expected to successfully increase productivity, carry out successful projects with the local Operational Excellence Managers, and share best practices across the relevant entities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coaching and supporting local Managers in their activities to improve and transform their P&L's
  • Supporting their change management initiatives
  • Ensuring that projects contribute to the operational strategy define by management
  • Providing long-term strategic input for the entities
  • Providing direct support for projects at the local level
  • Making sure each project is catalogued and shared throughout the business unit
  • When coaching, share best practices and results from other projects
  • Ensure a smooth transition in case of promotion or departure, be involved in the hiring process
  • Help develop Operational Excellence managers to foster internal growth

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong experience in Operational Excellence in an logistics or Port Terminals environment
  • Knowledge of logistics in an import-export and/or Maritime solutions environment
  • Experience communicating effectively with senior leadership
  • Fluent French and English
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification is a plus
  • Open to traveling 25% of the time
