Founded in 2024, Askya Investment Partners is a venture capital firm dedicated to Africa. We partner with innovative and fast-growing startups, helping them scale through catalytic investments and strategic support. In doing so, we leverage our experience as investors, operators & directors at 20+ firms, from startups to corporate giants. We invest early and with conviction, across sectors and geographies.
We believe that our focus on economic sectors critical for the continent’s development, combined with our distinctive model tailored for building tech champions enable us to be responsible stewards of our investors’ capital and to create transformative economic and social impact for the continent’s communities.
THE ROLE
Askya is seeking to recruit a Venture Capital Fellow to join the firm’s investing practice.
The successful candidate will work closely with the team in driving all aspects of investments, including defining segments of interest, sourcing investment opportunities, conducting research, writing investment memorandums, conducting due diligence and supporting transaction execution. In addition to investments, the successful candidate may also be involved in fundraising, firm operations and support to portfolio companies.

We look for candidates demonstrating the following attributes:
● Outstanding research, writing and analytical / quantitative skills
● Experience as in investment banking, private equity / VC investing, corporate strategy, consulting or related fields
● Demonstrated interest for innovation and entrepreneurship in Africa
● Proven track record to succeed in a dynamic environment
● Conviction in your viewpoints but can quickly adapt to feedback and new information
● Intellectually curious with a dedication to go the extra mile
● Collaborative attitude with a team-first approach
● Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
● Demonstrated judgment; record of making winning decisions
● Ability to quickly build rapport and trust from others
● You can self-manage and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
● Ability to synthesize sophisticated information, form a sharp point of view, and communicate it clearly
● Fluency in English is required, fluency in French is a plus
THE CONDITIONS

● Length of contract: 3-6 months, with possible extension
● Salary: competitive
● This is a hybrid position requiring the ability to work autonomously as part of a distributed team.
